I spend more time in my studio during these cold and dreary days, and this painting I had completed some time ago….but I was never really happy with the finished piece. I don’t remember repainting or correcting a painting once I think I’m finished…but, in this case….I’m happy with the outcome. The only risk would be that I could have made the painting worse…but not this time! Enjoy Feb 7, 2015
acrylic on canvas, this “New Leaf ” painting was created from one of a series of drawings I’ve been making every day in our backyard
This painting has been purchased!
Allium in Spring….a small canvas created from the “sketch a day in the garden” project.
One good thing about cold snowy weather is that I have more time to paint! I think I’m going to do a “custom” portrait of each of our dogs (and maybe cats) giving each the spotlight as if they were “the biggest star” in our household.
During these cold a dreary days of early spring, it’s great to be able to work on some custom “headshots” of dogs and cats. My big dogs like to sit on the couch and watch me work away. I sometimes wonder what they think about my studio activities!
