We were running low on some of the smaller watercolors/drawings/sketches available in our Bellacompany store in Weston, MO, so I’ve decided to create more! These paintings are about 15″X20″…ACRYLIC on heavy watercolor paper. I have lots of images of dogs and cats, and we have 3 dogs and 4 cats as models if I need them,… In the past, I did watercolors when I traveled, but I haven’t had an opportunity to travel…so, no new small watercolors. When I experimented with watercolor the other day, it just wasn’t working! Then I tried using acrylic paint on watercolor paper….I like the effect and the outcome. Enjoy!
I have been working on one garden sketch a day. It’s a kind of vacation from illustrating and painting commissions, and even painting dogs! This painting is the result of one of those sketches…Acrylic on canvas. enjoy
Most of my unsold art is carried by the Strecker Nelson Art Gallery in Manhattan, Kansas. If you’d like to see more of my work, I attached a link to my “page”. This is a great gallery in every way. They ship all over the US and they are very “user” friendly! The work I show on my facebook page and this blog is newly “minted” work!
A great cloudy day to work in the studio on this larger painting. I haven’t painted “large” for awhile…I need more patience in this painting. And, I need to enjoy the moment(s)
I think that I sometimes do not stop to smell the roses….Custom work always takes priority in my painting life, and then I don’t have time or the mind set to just “create” something. My new years resolution was to paint more and just to paint …like a walk in the woods with no destination! I’m going to post the progress of this new canvas so I can follow my own steps. I always welcome company although it would make me nervous if someone was actually watching me paint! Enjoy the journey. The painting on my easel today has about 4 hours of work so far….but who’s keeping track?
The first day of the New Year I always feel reborn into a new time to think and create and change. We’ve all been through some very busy times with family and friends and just keeping up with each day as it presents itself. This past week I’ve taken some time to work on a new painting about the new year and the endless possibilities of it all! Enjoy
It was a long hot summer. Our escape was to work diligently on our second book about dog rescue. We did receive many outstanding stories and the project to get a painting and a story And a release form signed was exciting and exhausting too! Now that the painting frenzy is over and the book is printed and available for sale at Bellacompany.com, I’m finding my way back into just painting whatever comes to mind. The difficulty is to get back to painting from my own prompting!
