I haven’t been painting as much recently because the weather has been bitter cold and gray, then there’s a hint of sunshine and brief warm up followed by more cold and dismal skies. Wish Mother Nature would make up her mind!
But now the sun has been shining and I’m looking forward to Spring and Summer, and am finally in the mood to paint. Here’s the most recent “wishful thinking” painting that I’ve been working on … sunshine, blue sky, puffy clouds and a warm breeze … aaaaahhh!
Cats In Winter Garden
I started working on another garden painting from my summer sketches, but adding cats really brought the work to life! enjoy! This painting was sold in our store in Weston!
Climbing Rose is finished….! well, almost. I’ve added a little more detail..but not much!
I’ve been attempting a small drawing of the garden every day this spring…And, this is my first small painting (acrylic on canvas) that I’m pretty sure I’ve finished!
My 2nd small garden painting. Now that September has arrived, there is a realization that all of this garden will slowly fade to a more somber color pallet…so, there might be one more painting on the easel soon!
Small Garden Painting, July 28,2013
I have been working on one garden sketch a day. It’s a kind of vacation from illustrating and painting commissions, and even painting dogs! This painting is the result of one of those sketches…Acrylic on canvas. enjoy
The garden painting two is on it’s way. I plan to show the progress of this piece as I resolve the idea….enjoy!
Summer was slow to arrive this year! I’ve been working away in the garden to get everything happy and healthy before the July heat! Now I’ve decided to do some garden paintings with no dogs or cats….how long can I get away with this? only time can tell!
